Once this is all decorated I probably wouldn't even think about this..... Over in the corner where the clapboard joins the stone and stucco, I am imagining a gutter running down the wall flat against the clapboard. I have seen them in metal in 1: 12 scale. They even have ribs running the length of them. Maybe I saw them on the Sussex Crafts site.
I love that tool box! The crates are great too.

It is a great way to get words and other images on wood. You could have 'vintage' crates.
